My Listings is for selling a home yourself, without an agent. Your listing appears to buyers on OurHouse clearly marked For Sale by Owner, and they contact you directly.

Would you rather use an agent? Get a free appraisal at the top of the page sends your details to local agencies, who'll get in touch with an estimate of what your home is worth.

Listing a property

Choose + List a property and fill in:

  • the address (picked from New Zealand address suggestions) and region,
  • asking price, bedrooms, bathrooms and property type,
  • Your contact phone (optional). Since there's no agent, buyers see this and your account email,
  • a description.

Press Publish listing and it's live.

Adding a property you already own

If your home is already on OurHouse, open its page and choose Send claim for review. Upload a document that shows your name and this address, such as a rates notice or a certificate of title. You'll need a verified email address first, and we delete the document 30 days after we decide the claim. Once an admin approves the claim, the property moves into My Listings, so you don't need to list it again. You can't claim a property that is private, that an agent or agency manages, or that someone else added.

Managing a listing

Each listing on the page has a Manage link. The Manage Listing page lets you:

Edit the details
Title, address, suburb, city, region, asking price, sale type, auction date, bedrooms, bathrooms, garage spaces, floor and land area, property type, ownership type, build decade, parking, a link to the listing elsewhere, heating, insulation, your contact phone and the description. Press Save changes.
Photos
Upload photos, pick the cover photo and remove ones you don't want. A listing needs a photo before it can be boosted. Each photo's average colour fills its space on the dashboard cards while the photo loads, so the card doesn't flash white.
Mark as sold / Mark as active
Once it sells, mark it sold. Buyers watching it see the change. You can switch it back if a sale falls through.
Open homes
Add each open home with a start time, an optional end time and who's hosting. Buyers see them on the listing page and can add them to their calendar. Remove one if plans change.
Insights & buyer tools
How many people have viewed and saved your listing, and tools to reach buyers. Including a free boost for private sellers, messaging buyers who are watching the listing, a QR check-in poster for open homes, and a weekly report of your listing's numbers by email. These work the same way as they do for agents; see the listing tools guide.

What buyers see

Your listing looks like any other property page, with a For Sale by Owner panel showing your name and phone number, and a button to email you. There's a note that there's no agent on this listing, so buyers know they'll be dealing with you directly.
