Your account settings live behind your avatar in the header. Every settings page shows the same row of tabs, so you can move between them.
Profile
- Profile details
- Your first and last name, city, country, email and avatar (PNG, JPG or WebP; it's cropped to a square from the centre). Changing your email also needs your current password. Press Save changes.
- Update password
- Enter your current password, then the new one twice. This signs you out on every other device and browser; you stay signed in here.
- Usage analytics
- Shown when OurHouse is collecting usage analytics: counts of which pages and features are used, never your name, email or anything you type. Press Turn off usage analytics to stop it for your account (or turn it back on). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, it stays off. You can also choose in the privacy policy without signing in.
- Delete account
- Permanently removes your account and everything in it. Watchlists, notes, photos and scores. Enter your password to confirm. This can't be undone.
Property display
Choose which categories of nearby places appear on property pages. Schools, supermarkets, parks, health, and so on. Leave them all unticked to see everything. The Edit categories link on a property's Points of Interest panel brings you here.
Notifications
What you get by email and in the app, and your consent history. See Notifications.
Affordability
What can I afford? estimates your buying power from your deposit, household income and monthly expenses. Once saved, it's used on every property page and on your dashboard.
- Household income
- Your monthly take-home pay, your partner's, and room rental income if you'll have a boarder.
- Purchase settings
- Target property price, savings or deposit, the fixed term you're looking at, your bank and rate (picked from current rates or entered yourself), loan term, the bank's stress-test rate and a safety buffer.
- Expense breakdown
- Housing costs, groceries, utilities, insurance, partner expenses, transport (public transport, fuel, parking and tolls), maintenance, and any custom expenses you add.
- Existing debt
- Other loan repayments and your total credit card limits. Banks count card limits even if you pay them off in full each month.
The Buying power panel updates as you type: your estimated buying power, loan capacity and how much deposit is used. Press Save income & expenses so it's filled in next time. Clear saved income & expenses removes the income and expense details but keeps your deposit and rate settings.
This is a planning tool, not a pre-approval. Confirm what you can borrow with a bank or mortgage adviser.
API keys
API keys let the OurHouse browser app, or another tool you trust, save properties to your account. Including private properties.
- Create API key: name the key, set when it expires, choose what it can access, and press Generate API key. Copy the key straight away. It's only shown once.
- Active keys: when each was created, last used and expires. Revoke stops a key working immediately.
- Usage insights: how many requests your keys have made, the most-used endpoints and recent activity.
- Revoked keys: a record of keys you've switched off.
