OurHouse lets you know when something changes on a home you care about. A price drop, a sale, a new match for your search. You choose which of these come by email, which show in the app, and which you don't want at all.

ReferralsWhen someone signs up with your referral link.
News from OurHouseNew features and offers, now and then.

Some messages aren't optional because they're about your account itself. Password resets, email confirmation, payment receipts and invitations someone has sent you.

The weekly digest

Each Friday afternoon OurHouse sends one email that sums up your week, so you don't have to piece it together from separate alerts. It covers the homes on your watchlists, including watchlists shared with you:

  • Price changes in the past week, showing each home's old and new asking price.
  • Open homes in the next seven days.
  • Coming up: conditions and settlement dates on offers marked accepted, settlement dates you've set on a home, and checklist tasks due in the next seven days. Unfinished tasks that are past their due date show as overdue.
  • New listings in the past week for each of your saved searches, with a link to see them.

If nothing happened and nothing is coming up, you won't get one that week. It's email only; untick Weekly digest to stop it.

Choosing what you get

Go to Account menu → Notifications. Each type has an Email and an In app tick box (News from OurHouse and the weekly digest are email only). Untick what you don't want and press Save. Every email also has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that turns that type off.

News from OurHouse is off until you turn it on. Alerts about homes you're watching and searches you've saved are on by default, because you asked for them by watching or saving.

Under your preferences is a record of what you agreed to and when you changed it. New Zealand law asks us to keep this, and it's there so you can see it too.
