Found a home on another site, or heard about one from a friend? Add it to OurHouse and it gets the same research tools as everything else. You only need the address. OurHouse fills in the rest it can find.
Adding a property, step by step
The form has three short steps.
1. Where is it?
- Watchlist (optional)
- Pick the watchlist to save it to. Choose Don't add to a watchlist to just add the property. you can save it to a watchlist later from its page. + New watchlist lets you create one and brings you straight back to this form.
- Address
- Start typing and pick the address from the New Zealand address suggestions.
- Property type and asking price
- Optional, but they help with comparisons and affordability.
2. What's it like?
Bedrooms, bathrooms, floor area, land area and parking. All optional. Add what you know.
3. Anything else?
A photo and your notes or description, both optional. A summary of what you've entered is shown before you press Add Property.
What happens next
- The property is added to OurHouse for everyone, so other buyers can find it too. Your notes, photos and scores on it stay private to you and the people you share a watchlist with.
- OurHouse looks up school zones, nearby places, transport, walkability, weather and hazard data for the address.
- If you picked a watchlist, the property is on it and ready for your notes, photos and scores.
Want to keep a property completely to yourself? Properties saved through the API, such as from the OurHouse browser app, are private. See Private Properties.
Plan limits
The Free plan lets you keep 10 properties across your watchlists. If you're at the limit, the form says so. You can still add the property without saving it to a watchlist, or upgrade to Premium for no limit.
